We had a conventional septic system that included a pump. The drain field was situated 860 feet away from the house, which isn’t exactly a walk in the park. To add complexity, we needed to manage an elevation change of 130 feet, with most of that change happening in just the last 300 linear feet. That meant we were dealing with a steep hill!

The Drain Field Challenge

Now, let’s talk about the drain field. Seven of the 10 drain field lines we installed were on a contour along a 25-degree slope. Each line measured 3 feet wide, 4 feet deep, and 40 feet long, spaced 10 feet apart. This setup required precision and planning to ensure everything worked smoothly.
